Mha Puja in Nepal

Festival

At Shanti Yoga Ashram, Mha Puja can be observed as a sacred practice of devotion and connection with self.

“Honor the Self and Awaken the Shakti within.”

What is Mha Puja?

Mha Puja is a sacred Tantra tradition of self-worship and inner purification, traditionally celebrated during Tihar (Light Festival) in Nepal. The ceremony honors the body, mind, and inner self as a sacred presence, using mandalas, oil lamps, flowers, incense, offerings, and ritual food.

Significance of Mha Puja

Self-Realization – Encourages awareness of one’s inner self and spiritual nature. Inner Purification – Symbolizes cleansing negative thoughts, emotions, and past influences. Inner Light – Oil lamps represent the light of consciousness overcoming darkness and ignorance. Balance & Well-being – The mandala and offerings symbolize harmony of body, mind, and life. Renewal & Empowerment – Traditionally performed around the New Year, it represents renewal and setting positive intentions for the year ahead.
