“On the Great Night of Shiva, turn inward and awaken the stillness within.”
What is Maha Shivaratri?
Maha Shivaratri, the Great Night of Shiva, is one of the most sacred nights in the Yogic and Tantric traditions. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, representing pure consciousness, inner stillness and the dissolution of ignorance. Traditionally observed through fasting, meditation, Mantra, Puja and night-long Sadhana, Maha Shivaratri offers a powerful opportunity to turn inward, deepen awareness and experience the silence within.
Significance of Maha Shivaratri
For a Yoga practitioner, Maha Shivaratri is more than a festival—it is a night of Sadhana and inner transformation. The stillness of the night is traditionally regarded as especially supportive for meditation and spiritual practice. Through Shiva Mantra, meditation, ritual and conscious awareness, practitioners seek to transcend ordinary mental activity and connect with the deeper state of consciousness symbolized by Shiva.
